Why is romance so harrrddddd

I'm so tired of always falling so easily for people who wouldnt look twice at me because in their heads I'm nothing more than the mom friend. Someone for them to use as a therapist who couldn't even fathom romantisism because I don't like modern day dating culture.  Like yeah no, I don't want to go to the movies or go take a walk in the park. I want old dark romantics. Picnic right outside the cemetary, creepy circuses, staying at home and watching horror classics so old that some of them don't even have sound, A COFFIN SHAPED BED. Maybe I just want a vampire girlfriend/boyfriend but uh yeah, trad/cyber/romantic goths hit my line
